One-Punch Man's protagonist is known for his ridiculous strength, but he's not the only character in the series with a mind-blowing set of abilities. Tatsumaki — also known as Tornado of Terror or Terrible Tornado — is an esper with impeccable control over her supernatural powers who gives Saitama a run for his money.

We've witnessed the Psychic Sister's skillset and hotheaded personality, but there are a few obscure facts about her that some OPM fans might not be aware of. Let's dive into 10 bits of information you probably never knew about Tatsumaki.

10 She Could've Defeated Golden Sperm

Anime-only fans might not be fully aware of Golden Sperm or his original form, Black Sperm. His blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance onscreen was nowhere near informative enough to comprehend his strength. On the other hand, fans who have read the One-Punch Man manga/webcomic know that he "defeated" Tatsumaki during a confrontation.

The thing is, Tatsumaki had previously been weakened by Psykos, so the aforementioned fight shouldn't serve as a testament to Sperm's strength. Series creator ONE confirmed this in an interview where he briefly stated that, in her best state, Tatsumaki would've actually beaten Golden Sperm.

9 She's (Probably) More Capable Than Mob

Shigeo Kageyama, a.k.a. Mob from Mob Psycho 100, is a seemingly normal middle school student with an unpredictable range of supernatural skills. He boasts telekinetic talents, spiritual awareness, and the ability to astral project, among several other things.

Mob might sound like the perfect counter to Tatsumaki's esper powers, but ONE (who created both series) has admitted that the Psychic Sister would inevitably win. However, he did mention that if Kageyama got "serious" and gave his all, the outcome could potentially be different.

8 Tatsumaki Genuinely Respects King

Tatsumaki is generally disliked by anyone she interacts with, which could be attributed to her brash and immature personality. In that same vein, she detests having to collaborate with people and has a strained relationship with many other heroes, including her sister Fubuki.

Therefore, it's utterly appalling that Tatsumaki genuinely respects King. The ironic truth is that King became a Class S Hero out of sheer luck and doesn't actually possess any special skills. If anything, he's the one "Hero" that Tornado should despise the most.

7 She Wears Underpants

This is a weird fact if we've ever heard one. Are normal people supposed to wonder if anime/manga characters wear underpants? Apparently, the animation team at Madhouse finds this to be a valid question. Then again, bringing a character to life — as the studio does — involves understanding elaborate design details...including underpants.

One-Punch Man manga illustrator Yusuke Murata mentioned that Madhouse inquired about Tatsumaki's clothing situation a few years ago. In case you missed it, the answer is yes. Tatsumaki wears underpants. The more you know...

6 Geryuganshoop's Skill Level Should Be Above Tatsumaki's

One Punch Alien Control Ship

As it stands, Tatsumaki is considered the most powerful esper in the One-Punch Man universe. Her psychokinetic output was supposedly greater than Geryuganshoop's. Nonetheless, Lord Boros's loyal alien sidekick was technically more skilled than the Class S Hero — a fact that Yusuke Murata himself has confirmed.

Geryuganshoop could literally eliminate the friction between physical objects and air, which is something that not even Tatsumaki is capable of. In comparison, Tornado can throw massive objects, but the speed at which she can do so is limited.

5 She's Into Candy Apples

This fact was confirmed by Fubuki in a One-Punch Man audiobook. She mentions that her sister is obsessed with candy apples and that she goes to festivals just to buy them. This serves as a fun detail on its own, but it leads to a chance encounter that we will expand upon further down this list.

Tatsumaki is so sour and insulting that we can't believe she enjoys anything with "candy" in its name. The concept is as ironic as her respecting King for being a "true hero."

4 A Real-Life Tatsumaki Would Look French

One Punch Man Tatsumaki

Illustrator Yusuke Murata once addressed the ethnicities of variousOne-Punch Man characters and stated that the Psychic Sisters would be French in real life. This means that Tatsumaki and Fubuki would presumably be very familiar with, say, the Eiffel Tower... or croissants.

In case you're curious about the other characters singled out in this conversation, Genos allegedly looks German. Suiryu would be Italian, Sweet Mask (Amai Mask) is Korean, and Choze might be Russian. Talk about a diverse group.

3 One Of Her Attacks Was Misinterpreted

The animation crew at Madhouse misunderstood ONE's intentions for a specific attack during Tatsumaki's fight against Ancient King. ONE simply wanted a giant boulder to hit the creature, which would subsequently trigger a flashback to the meteor that destroyed his race.

What happened instead was that Tatsumaki pulled an actual meteor from outer space and killed Ancient King with it. Murata noted that if the esper could accomplish that, she should've easily been able to bring down Lord Boros's ship.

2 She's A TV Remote

Thanks to an extra chapter withinOne-Punch Man Volume 10, titled "Tatsumaki's Day Off," we can confirm that Tornado is also a television remote. Seriously, she can control TV channels by utilizing her psychic abilities. It's a practical skill that most would never even consider, especially with so many monsters running amok.

The scene comes about during a particularly slow day where Tatsumaki receives no duty calls and is granted a free day by the Hero Association. Of course, boredom got the best of her and she used the news to seek bad guys à la Light Yagami in Death Note.

1 She Actually First Met Saitama At A Festival

We previously mentioned that Tatsumaki goes to festivals just to buy candy apples. We also noted that there had been a chance encounter as a result of her attendance at these events. Well, the person she bumped into was Saitama and it happened at a haunted house.

Saitama thought Tornado was a lost child and she thought he was a ghost because her psychic powers didn't work on him. Tatsumaki was completely freaked out by the concept of Saitama being immune to her abilities.
